New Year's Baby

Born on January 1, 1913, today would have been my father's 100th birthday. One of the cleverest, most inventive people I have ever known, it wouldn't surprise me if he took this photograph himself (unless it was his Irish Setter, Pantywaist) because Dad and Panty lived here alone together during the Depression. Times were tough and, although he was very young, he had nowhere else to go. Both his parents had died by the time he was a teenager. But, for better or worse, I believe his experience here made him who he was, as trials and tribulations will do. Have a birthday that's happy, Pappy.
